The RenaultEspace is widely regarded as having established the breed, yet it’seasytoforget that Mitsubishi’sfirst Space Wagon, the Nissan Prairie and To yota’sSpaceCruiser (remember them?) all entered the showrooms at least a year before the Espace. Of late, the MPV camp has split into two (even three) distinct factions, with smaller, more affordable so-called mini-MPVs-even though many seat only five-proving the more popular of the two. This “second-division” MPV campisepitomised by the hugely successful Renault Scenic, now into its second generation, and more recently, by Vauxhall’sZafira, whose ingenious Flex7 seating not only chairs up to seven occupants, but also avoids having to leave some (or even all) of the seats at home when cargo-carrying duties are called for. Mitsubishi, arguably, got there first, with its first-and second-generation Space Wagons effectively straddling what are now termed the MPV1 and MPV2 classes.

Dodge Magnum Thermostat Install Manual

Dodge Magnum Thermostat Install Manual. Here are my instructions. I am using the FSM as a reference so you can follow along and see how I do/explain things differently. Removal: 1. I dont bother disconnecting the battery because I am lazy and dont feel like having to rest my clock. :) Just be careful. 2. The book says to drain the cooling system. I just wedge an empty coolant jug between the battery tray and washer fluid reservoir with a funnel on top and then disconnect the upper hose at the radiator and let the coolant drain into the funnel. I also tilt the hose down to get most of the coolant out lessening the amount that spills out at the intake. The reason I do it this was is if you use the drain cock of the radiator there is still quite a bit of coolant in the upper hose and you need to put a jug there anyway to catch it or you make a mess. So why not do that in the first place? If you do use the drain cock be careful with it they aren’t hard to break. 3. Remove the accessory belt. I just take my 18? breaker bar and a 15mm socket, pivot the tensioner pulley and take the belt off the tensioner and the alternator pulleys. I just leave the belt in that position because it makes it easier to get it back on after. Now look at the A/C lines that run over the top of the alternator and you will see a small bracket holding them in place which bolts to the intake. First unbolt the bolt on the intake holding the bracket in place and then undo the small little bolt in between the a/c lines. This will allow you to open up the bracket and slid it off the a/c lines. The bolt you removed from the intake should of gone thru a ground wire and another support bracket. Just push the ground wire out of the way. At the back of the support bracket there will be another bolt. Just loosen this up enough so you can rotate the support bracket out of the way. Now its time to move the alternator. There should be two bolts holding it in place, one on the lower left and one on the upper right. Totally remove the one on the upper right and then just loosen the one on the lower left. This will allow you to rotate the alternator up out of the way and fully expose the thermostat gooseneck.

Kia, until now just the ankle-biting junior division of Hyundai, is ready to start banging pots together for attention. It aspires to be perky and sporty, a quasi-Honda to Hyundai’s staid line of quasi-Toyotas. There’s been loose talk of a Kia pickup truck. There have been a two-seat sportster concept and a boxy urban hipster concept. There’s been management roiling that put former VW of America executive V-P Len Hunt in charge of Kia’s U.S. operations.

Audi TT DIY Battery Replacement Tips

If you still have your stock battery, try adding DESTILLED WATER ONLY to the fill cap indicated by the yellow arrows. Most batteries sold here in the states are maintenance free type ones. Fill the battery up to the fill lines on the side before trying to charge her up. If charging doesnt work, its time to replace:
So my original Moll Batterie ETN 540 082 057 (German OEM Manufacturer) gave up its life cycle yesterday. Battery came with my 2000 B5 A4 (Build 99/8), the battery itself was produced in 99/11 its 05/12 now so 73 months on the stock OEM battery aint that bad. either way, i searched around and found some recommendations from other members but they were scattered all over.
Here is my list:

Duralast 94R DLG Autozone (direct fit for 2001+, confirmed by DeutschDriver)
Duralast 48DL Autozone (direct fit verified by myself)
Optima 34R (might need a custom made bracket)
Napa 7548 (unable to find anything when i searched)
Bosch 48B
DieHard International from Sears (direct fit)
41-4 from WalMart (seemed a little big in length when i measured it)
Interstate MTP 91
MotoMaster 72
Odyssey PC 680 (needs modifications)
Odyssey PC 1200 (supposed to fit with stock brackets)
Stinger SP 1000 (will need a cage to be installed into car to work)
Energizer sold by PepBoys ( direct fit)

00 A4 B5 comes stock with a Moll Battery that has 70Amps or 570/340 CCA Cold Cranking Amps.
The NEG pole is on the Passenger side and POS on the Driver side. The size is as followed
Length | Width | Height
278mm | 175mm | 190mm Metric
10.95" | 6.9" | 7.49" US System

The battery is held down on the bottom passenger with a small bolt and a clamp. The battery tray that comes with the car is a universal one from Audi and has 3 different holes for the bolt for 3 different sizes, the battery that the b5 is using uses the outest hole so it is as big as you get get without modifiying the tray or buying universal holding brackets.

I searched around the board and found several recommendations for batteries which i have listed here, i went with a Duralast Battery from Autozone which is a direct fit.

I didnt list the warranties or prices as those change with time and can vary; most batteries run between 40$ - 150$ depending on manufacturer. The warranty on most batteries is 2 years free replacement and a 5 year prorated replacement based on use for the original purchaser.

The replacement is fairly simple and sraight forward; make sure you have the RADIO CODE or you will get screwed afterwards, you will also have to reprogramm the date and time and have the windows learn the one touch up and down function again!

Battery weight is approx 40lbs, so be aware of that when handling the piece and dont break the oil dipstick or any other plastic engine parts that might be laying around.

Here we go:

Tools needed: Ratchet set with 13mm and 8mm, phillips screwdriver and a 10mm wrench
Time anticipated: 20mins

Open the hood

Pull the rubber seal strip away from the firewall

Pull the tray upward and then out towards the front of the car

In order for the battery to come out you need to remove the plastic passenger windshield cover, its a good idea to replace the pollen filter as this time as well.
A writeup for the pollen filter replacement is here The cover is held on to the car with 3 phillips screws and an 8mm bolt. pull the cover away towards the top and then passenger side, the battery will be exposed.

This picture shows a motorcycle battery used instead of an automotive, the battery is small and the bolts towards the bottom left (the one thats covered with the NEG cable) is in the 2nd whole, the stock battery will be held down but will be found on the 3rd whole. Take a look at the orange section that is exposed on the POS cable. if you go straight down from the Orange you see a hole without a cable, this is where the battery drain hose will go, make sure that one is in there or you will run into problems later trying to get that sucker in there

Another look at the motorcycle battery and the holes for the bolts. This person is using a non fitting battery and makes it work by using universal battery hold downs. With the stock setup use the 13mm socket and remove the braket holding the battery down.

This picture shows the battery still installed, underneath the battery is a drain whole for the firewall, often this drainwhole becomes clogged with leaves or any other dirt. Make sure that you clean it up before installing the new battery.

Here is a shot of the Duralast 94R DLG, side by side with the OEM battery:

Remove the 2 battery clamps, starting with the NEG|BLACK first and then the POS|RED. Disconnect the battery drain hose from the battery and leave it in the whole mentioned earlier. Move the cables out of the way and pull the old battery out

Installation is in the reverse order except that you now have a longer hose for the battery drain to be connected to.

Sure, it truly is one among the most important terrain private yachts on the market, nevertheless its manageable. the only real concern we have known in previous several years is that the pedal really feel on the braking system is nearly soft. Quality of ride just isnt approximately the standards of latest crossovers, for your foremost 50 %, nevertheless the Dispatch help keep its disposition upon harder surfaces, also it voyages higher than unique body-on-frame trucks. About Carports and Car Canopies

If you are a car owner or running a business that involves vehicles, or if you have made an investment in your auto, truck, or RV, protecting it from the heat, rain, dirt and harsh weather is a necessity. Of course, a building for parking and storing vehicles such as a garage is the most common and effective means of protection there is. But if you do not have a garage in your lot, or do not have a sufficient space to erect one, carports are an excellent and a very economical alternative.Carports are specially designed to be light and compact enough to carry around from place to place, these shade structures are a very lightweight alternative to car shelters and they are very easy to set up in a chosen outdoor area. These shade structures are available in a gable or flat roof design, making it a simple way to provide shade and shelter for your vehicle from finish-dulling UV rays, bird droppings, tree saps, and falling debris. Carports are also efficient in protecting your vehicles and locomotives from moisture damage by keeping out rain, snow, and ice.Because the purpose of these tents is to protect cars and vehicles from heat damage and other possible impairments, high standards of quality always come with the manufacture of these canopies. You can always rest assured that your tent is engineered excellently and guaranteed to meet your standards.

Well-made canopies are always reinforced to withstand strong winds, heavy downpours of rain, and extreme heat. Additionally, the vinyl finish or polyethylene that is placed on the tent means that the building requires low maintenance to keep the shade structure durable and make it last for several years regardless of frequent usage.Carports are also sometimes referred to as car tents or covers, and whichever type you prefer, you will find a size and style to fit almost any of your requirements. For single-car needs, a canopy with the size measurements of 10x20 will suffice. Smaller sizes are also available for snowmobiles, motorcycles, and gardening equipment, and there are models that can reach up to 40 inches in length to cover small boats, sleds, snowplows, tractors, semitrailers, and motor homes. If you are to consider harsh weather conditions, such as heavy rain and torrential winds and even hail, the addition of optional heavy-duty canvas side panels and a zippered door can turn canopies into fully enclosed carports that will provide you with an extremely effective shelter against the elements.

VW Golf Owners Manual

VW Golf & Jetta Mk 2 models with petrol engines, including fuel injection, catalytic converter, Formel E, 16-valve and special/limited edition models 1043 cc, 1272 cc, 1595 cc & 1781 cc. Volkswagen Golf and Jetta Manual The aim of this Manual is to help you get the best value from your vehicle. It can do so in several ways. It can help you decide what work must be done (even should you choose to get it done by a garage), provide information on routine maintenance and servicing, and give a logical course of action and diagnosis when random faults occur. However, it is hoped that you will use the Manual by tackling the work yourself. On simpler jobs it may even be quicker than booking the car into a garage and going there twice, to leave and collect it. Perhaps most important, a lot of money can be saved by avoiding the costs a garage must charge to cover its labour and overheads. The Manual has drawings and descriptions to show the function of the various components so that their layout can be understood. Then the tasks are described and photographed in a clear step-by-step sequence. Acknowledgements Thanks are due to Champion Spark Plug who supplied the illustrations showing spark plug conditions, to Duckhams Oils, who provided lubrication data and also to Sykes-Pickavant Limited, who supplied some of the workshop tools, and to all those people at Sparkford who helped in the production of this Manual. We take great pride in the accuracy of information given in this Manual, but vehicle manufacturers make alterations and design changes during theproduction run of a particular vehicle of which they do not inform us. No liability can be accepted by the authors or publishers for loss, damage or injury caused by any errors in, or omissions from the information given. The VWGolf &Jetta Team.

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Owners Manual

Driving gets more civilized with the Lancer ES with air conditioning and better seats, front and rear. New for 2011 is the Lancer ES Sportback, a smooth-looking 5-door that made its debut on the 2010 Lancer Ralliart. Fuel economy for the Lancer ES is an EPA-estimated 25/32 mpg City/Highway. We found the Lancer ES offers decent steering response and tracks well through corners, with no excessive body lean. The Lancer GTS climbs the ladder with its 2.4-liter engine, a gem of a powerplant coupled with a sweet 5-speed gearbox or 6-step CVT with paddle shifters (23/30 mpg). We tested the Lancer GTS Sportback version complete with front air dam and rear spoiler, our test car with a 5-speed, looking sleek in Graphite Gray Pearl and beautiful 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. The GTS is a compelling value for its good looks, enjoyable driving characteristics, affordable pricing, and fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 24/31 mpg City/Highway. If you dont need all-wheel drive or turbocharged acceleration, the GTS is the one, especially in the new Sportback body style with a great cargo area. The all-wheel-drive Lancer Ralliart moves into high-performance land with an intercooled and turbocharged 2.0-liter engine making 237 horsepower, and showcasing Mitsubishis racy 6- speed twin-clutch automated manual transmission. Sedan or Sportback, flared fenders, hood scoop, vents like shark gills, optional Recaro seats. The fishface gets a chrome ring, like silver lipstick on a largemouth bass. The Lancer Evolution, the Evo, pumps out 291 horsepower. Shapely sedan only, with 5-speed GSR model, or with 6-speed twin clutch MS, which adds Bilstein shocks and lighter brake rotors. Have fun at the track, your car is ready.

Audi A4 B5 DIY Front Brakes

Replacing the front pads and rotors is pretty easy, and if you can turn a wrench you shouldnt have any problems.

Tools needed:
A large C-Clamp
7mm hex
19mm socket
Pliers and a flat head screwdriver
Whatever you use to get your car off the ground and take the wheels off.(jack/stands/etc)

Nice to have but not needed:
Syringe/something to catch the break fluid as it overflows.
Liquid wrench
Breaker bar/pipe.
Bentley repair manual

Materials:
New Pads
New Rotors
New Guide Pins (optional) Part num: 321 615 141

1. Jack up your car, and remove the front wheels. Make sure its secured on jack stands. You can do both at once, or one side at a time. Eitherway, do not use the OEM jack, as you may need to put your head below the rotor at certain times.

2. If your car has brake wear sensors disconnect them first. Follow the wire from the brake pad to the harness (circled in red below). You will need to pry the little tab and turn it 90 degrees. Then lift the harness out of the bracket and disconnect it.

3. Using a flathead and/or pliers remove the spring. (red arrows above)

4. On the rear of the caliper there are two rubber caps, one near the top the other near the bottom. Take those off, and inside you will find a 7mm hex screw. Remove both of screws, and check their condition as they may need to be replaced. Sorry, no pics of that.

At this point you should be able to take the caliper off, be careful not to rip anything. Once you get it off, secure it so that it does not fall to the ground. You can either support it on a jack stand, or tape it to the lower control arm, or anything else you see fit. If youre not replacing the rotors, skip down to step 7.

5. Removing the caliper carrier: the carrier is attached using two 19mm bolts located in the back (circled in red below). These were a real pain in the ass to break. But after half a can of liquid wrench, a broken 19mm and extension they came off. When you remove these, the rotor should come off with out any effort, if it doesnt give it a few taps to loosen it.

6. Install new rotors, and put the carrier back on. Tighten bolts to 92 ft
lb.

7. Replacing the pads: Pull out the old pads, the front one should just fall out, the rear is secured in place by a springed claw (see pic below), just pull it out.

8. Now open your brake fulid reservoir cap as you will need to keep an eye on the fluid level. Using a C-Clamp, slowly push in the piston on the caliper until you feel resistance. If the brake fluid begins to over flow, remove some of it using the syringe. I didnt have any thing to catch the fluid with, so I just put some old rags around it to absorb it.

9. Install the new pads in the same position as the old ones were located, place the caliper over the rotor and install the hex screws you removed in step 4. Tighten these to 18 ft lb. If you cant fit the new pads over the rotor, then you havent pushed the piston in all the way.

10. Reinstall the rubber caps, put in the springs, and reconnect the brake wear sensors. Once you finish one side, pump the pedal a bit as that will drop the brake fluid level. Then do the other side. Once both sides are done, pump the brake pedal a few times again.

11. Final step is to properly bed in your new brakes. Follow the instructions that came with your pads, or check the manufacturers website. The instructions for my pads (HAWK HPS) were as follows:

a. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.

b. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.

DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!

c. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.

After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

Carbureted Fuel System GENERAL INFORMATION On these vehicles, the engine management system is considered part of the emission control system. The major components include the carburetor(s), feedback control system, the air injection system, a throttle control system and the EGR system. The system consists of sensors and switches that feed information to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which will then operate several solenoid valves to maintain the ideal air/fuel ratio under all conditions. As useful as the tests found in this section are, the first step in repair or service to engine management systems is still to gain as much information as possible about the problem; when and under what conditions it occurs. At highway speed? At idle only? Only under heavy load or hard acceleration? Wet weather? Defining the problem will eliminate many systems from consideration and possibly point to the affected system. Before diving into an extended electrical diagnosis, take the time to review the basics. Check every vacuum line for cracks or leaks. Check every electrical connector for corrosion or loose pins. Quite often, simply unplugging and reconnecting a connector will break up corrosion on the pins and restore the circuit. Watch out for poor grounds, particularly if the car has experienced major bodywork. COMPONENT TESTING Air Injection System The purpose of this system is to supply oxygen to the exhaust stream at a point in the exhaust manifold that is hot enough to burn off some of the hydrocarbon emissions. The main component is an air suction valve. The valve is spring loaded to stay closed, with engine vacuum supplied to a diaphragm that reduces the spring pressure and allows the reeds to open. The ECU regulates the engine vacuum to the diaphragm by operating a solenoid valve. 1. With the engine at normal operating temperature and at idle, remove the air cleaner and listen for a bubbling sound at the air suction port. There should be no sound at idle, meaning the air suction valve is closed. 2. If the noise is heard at the air suction port, disconnect the vacuum hose at the air suction valve and connect a vacuum gauge to the hose. There should be no vacuum. If there is vacuum and the noise stops, the problem is in the control system. If there is no vacuum and the bubbling sound is still there, the air suction valve is defective and must be replaced. 3. To test the valve, draw a vacuum at the air suction valve diaphragm and listen for a bubbling sound at the air suction port. If no sound is heard, the air suction valve or diaphragm is faulty.
