Samsung Galaxy S Plus To Pack 1 4 GHz

Samsung is to release a new phone part of its much successful Galaxy S family - named the Samsung Galaxy S Plus, this handset is to be available in Russia (and probably Russia only) by the end of April 2011.

The "Plus" part of its name implies that this new incarnation of the Galaxy S phone holds a few advantages over the original Galaxy S, and this is a fact - its to pack a single-core 1.4GHz processor, Android 2.3 plus TouchWiz 3.0, as well as a bigger (1650mAh) battery.

Even more importantly for some people, the Samsung Galaxy S Plus back cover wont feature the trademark glossy plastic we know so well from various devices manufactured by the Korean company - rather, it will be made of metal, which will surely give this phone more weight and more premium feel.

The Samsung Galaxy S Plus is set to be available for a steep price - when its launched in April it will cost $842 or 23,990 rubles.

The Perfect Handheld Tablet Samsung Galaxy Player 5 8

I prefer smaller tablets since I find a tablet useful for us only in situations where I would not want to use a laptop. If I was working on a desk or coffee shop tablet, I would prefer to have a laptop. I do write a lot so a keyboard is something I am not likely to give up.

While traditional smaller tablets like the 7-inch Galaxy Tabs are small enough for me to thumb-type effectively, their  350 grams or so in weight makes it tiring. For me, the ideal size and weight for a tablet would be in the range of something like Amazons 6-inch eBook Reader which weighs in at a light 170 grams.

Samsung launched in Korea a small tablet, named the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8. As its name indicates, in comes with a 5.8-inch display and weighs in at 220 grams. The Android powered Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 looks like it will be a low cost devices. This lower cost nature of this device is hinted by it qHD, 540 x 960 pixel resolution, display. The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 also comes only with a front facing camera, which should keep the cost down.  Two versions have been released, one with 16 GB of storage, the other with 32 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 comes with a 2500 mAh battery so it should have good battery life. The Android operating system installed is Android 4.04, Ice Cream Sandwhich themed with Samsungs TouchWiz.

How much do I expect the device to cost. Somewhere between the 13K price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 and the the 10K price of the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2.

Aesthetically, the devices look like a large Samsung Galaxy S III. An interesting about this is that this seems to confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S IIIs design will be the template for future Samsung mobile devices. I am guessing, this is what the Samsung Galaxy Note to be unveiled in two days will look like.

Introducing The iPad Mini Killer The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 0 SPECS

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Note 8.0 At the Mobile World Congress event over in Barcelona, its latest mid-sized tablet, As with the Galaxy S3, Note 2 & the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, this 8-inch Samsung tablet supports split-screen functionality and ships with the latest version of the S Pen stylus, Specs-wise, the Galaxy Note 8.0 is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, contains 2GB of RAM & rocking a 1280x800 8-inch display at 189ppi, That 189ppi resolution means that the Galaxy Note 8.0s screen is sharper than the 163ppi display on the iPad mini.

Of course the Galaxy Note 8.0 runs Jelly Bean 4.1.1 out of the box & is available with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, At launch, the device will have Internet connectivity over HSPA+ & wi-fi, an LTE version is expected at a later date at a bit higher price.

What attracted my intention the most is that the tablet will also be able to make & receive calls (making it one of the heftiest mobile phone solutions on the market) In addition to the Galaxy Note 8.0s split-screen app functionality, the devices S Pen supports touch-free controls, which, for the first time, you can use to trigger the physical menu & back buttons without having to touch them by your fingures.

A new feature called "Awesome Note" has also been integrated into the tablet, turning the device into a handwriting-recognition memo-making machine (even better than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2), If youre interested in adding the Galaxy Note 8.0 to your mobile family, youll be able to pick one up at some point in Q2 2013.

Tablet and Phablet Buyers Guide

Okay, this is not really a guide, but to explain why I never write. Any. I dont, because it does not make sense. If you want a big tablet, well I would advise you choose between one of the various models buy an Apple iPad 2 or iPad 4. What about the Android tablets? Well, the ecosystem for Android apps optimized for 10-inches really makes it a no go for me. Microsoft Surface, really appeals more to someone thinking about buying a laptop than a tablet. If you want a surface, you want a keyboard.

In the smaller tablet front, you have the Apple iPad mini, Google Nexus 7 and a army of generic small tablets. The iPad mini and Nexus 7 occupy very different price points, the 32 GB Nexus 7 tablets costing 20% or so less than the 16 GB iPad minis, As for the army of small generic tablets, there are many offering, all of which are decidedly similar. A few, like the Android powered Starmobile Engage, with a HD display and less the Php8K retail price do stand out. Really a iPad mini versus Nexus 7 comparison is more useful than a buyers guide.

With Phone Tablets ("Phablets"), it is buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, or a Galaxy Note. Sure, LG has their Vu, but a 4:3 aspect ratio display and Android are just not a good mix.

Basically, with these gadgets, there are not enough interesting options to write a guide. Lets hope that changes in the next few months.

Samsung To Bring 5 Inch Full HD AMOLED Display Next Year

Asiae is reporting Samsung will bring a 4.99-inch Full HD AMOLED Display to CES in January 2013. The rumored device is said to have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and massive pixel density around 441 PPI (pixels per inch). Contrast that with the iPhone’s retina display which boasts a PPI of 326. It’s not the flexible display we’ve been hearing about but I’d be pretty happy with this on the Galaxy S IV or Note III.

Dual SIM Samsung Galaxy Note II launching in China on November 24

Back in September, we’ve told you that Samsung is working on a special version of the Galaxy Note II for the Chinese market. This model will keep all of the good things of the original device while adding a second SIM card slot to the mix. However, this doesn’t mean such a phone can work all around the world with one SIM card slot being used for a CDMA network and the other one for GSM-based one. In comparison, CDMA operators in the U.S. like Verizon and Sprint don’t support SIM cards.

Anyway, according to Chinese website Bolopad, China Telecom will be the first carrier in the country (and the whole world for that matter) to offer the dual-SIM Galaxy Note II. Those looking to grab this powerful phablet will have to wait until November 24th, when the floodgates will open, allowing rich Chinese to get into high-end Android action. As for the price, we’re hearing that the off-contract Note II will cost 5,199 CNY, which translates into some $835. Pretty steep…

Does The Galaxy S4 Make Other Smartphones Look Dumb

Well this here is yet another article in which i will discuss about the Galaxy S4; Here in this article the question is does the S4 make other smartphones dumb. Well i cant provide with an indefinite answer on this but what i can conclude now is that Samsung does wrap some very mind boggling features in the S4 which other smartphones dont provide. Some of the features which Samsung included this time around in their flagship device is pretty useful but some are really just marketing gimmicks which work but for day to day use users will not use much of it. One of the features which ill touch on is the S Health app on the S4. To me that looks to be a very good app which combines quite a number of solutions out there in the market together in one app. Also accompanying the app is a temperature and humidity sensor and some separately sold accessories which will help in getting the data for the app so that they can provide you with the best report. This is one of the features which makes other smartphones out there look dumb because Samsung took the time to think it through and even added a temperature and humidity sensor and to my concern no other smartphone in the market currently has the sensor. Next up is the intervention of the S Translate app on the S4 which looks to be a very promising solution. Although you have third party solutions for translating like Google Translate but S Translate is integrated in the S4s software itself. This is yet another feature which other manufacturers have ever equipped their device with. The dual camera feature is yet another thing which stands out from what other manufacturers are providing. Yes, the Optimus G Pro does come with this feature but does not have such a wide array of settings compared to what Samsung is bundling in. Samsung also managed to pull in quite a number of camera modes which is the most ever seen on an android device except the Galaxy Camera. Well these are a few compelling reasons why the Galaxy S4 outshines other devices and can even make other flagship device obsolete in its presence. So the conclusion is yes the S4 makes other smartphones look dumb in some way.
